Ramadan

Our flagship month

Ramadan is when Jeeran is at its fullest. Each year brings two big nights, Friday Taraweeh for women and a daily broadcast.

  • Family Iftar

Around 200 guests break their fast together, with a prayer space, games and activities for children, and prizes for the Ramadan decoration competition.

  • Suhoor night

A late-night gathering before the dawn meal, smaller and relaxed, for adults and older children.

  • Friday Taraweeh for women

Every Friday night in Ramadan, women from our families gather for Taraweeh prayers at the Doncaster Senior Citizens Centre.

  • Daily broadcast before Iftar

Each evening we broadcast live on YouTube just before Iftar, with the Azan in the Syrian tradition at Iftar time.
